Birthday Fun, Fun, Fun!!

invitation

Around the house I try to make our baby’s birthdays as special as they are.  And this time of year two of my luvs have birthdays less than a week apart…so its party time at the house.  Vera Kate is so sweet to have shared her party with her little brother.  Whitman has never known any different….and I don’t think he really cares at this point!  But I love this time to share these moments together…..it won’t always be this way.

Usually I have someone make my cupcakes or cake for my kid’s parties.  BUT since we have a BIGGER kitchen now I can finally have the room to store and keep cupcakes.  I love to bake cupcakes and I love ‘lil cupcake toppers (they are so cute and easy at the same time).  The cake toppers adorned the cutest little fish, the age, and child’s name.  And the cute little cupcake holders were this sweet fish paper in blue, pink, and green.

A June birthday just isn’t any fun without some kind of water…..the heat is almost miserable in south Georgia.  So we are very blessed to have had a waterslide.  The kids AND the adults all enjoyed it to a T!!!  Slide, slide, slide.  It seems we slid the enTyre weekend……well I guess we did.

(I found this in my drafts….oops….guess I forgot to post!)  We still had BLAST!!

I heart Etsy and ALL it’s inspiration!

DSCF8614

For over two years I have been doing some shopping on Etsy…..and I love it!!  I have found the cutest things for my kids, our home, and myself.

Last year I found these pennants on Etsy and I just had to have them…..but I talked myself out of them! ugh! I usually do this.  I told myself that if I still wanted them for the next year’s birthday parties that I would get ‘em.  Well the parties were getting closer and I really wanted to get these.  I was talking to my MIL about them and she was convinced that we could make them.  So after figuring out how much I would save I COMPLETELY agreed!!

I had lots of fabric left over from all sorts of projects and outfits I had made for the girls (I don’t ever throw away scraps of fabric…I love to recycle them ;) ).  Plus all the ribbon I had in my stash would be perfect to attach the pennants together.

It was a great team effort.  I made a template and then cut out all the pennants and my MIL did the sewing…I DO NOT SEW!!  So like I said it was a great team effort!  AND they came out TOO cute!!  I was so excited to see the results hanging on my porch banister.  It added so much to the party decor.  I can’t wait to use them again.

Not only was I inspired to make the pennants but also the cupcakes and the cupcake tower.  I think it all turned out pretty cute for our “Fish Fun” birthday parties!

More pics to come soon of our summer fun and the kid’s birthday party!!!

Whitman’s World

IMG00229-20110101-1054

It seems like life has gotten extremely busy with all the demands of school, the girl’s activities, church, home, the farm, etc.  I forget to mention and show ALL the good and fun times my little man is having.

Whitman loves to go ANYWHERE with his Daddy.  He may be a little fussy at the thought of leaving his Momma….he is a Momma’s boy….but as soon as he gets going with his Daddy there is separating them.

IMG00237-20110105-1006

Whitman loves his Woody!  And he loves to watch Toy Story with Woody on their horse while yelling, “yee-haw”!  He is so cute and fun!

IMG00245-20110108-0953 IMG00252-20110108-1714

He is also loves his Da and Papa!  No matter if one is around or both he is going to make sure he has their undivided attention.  Haha!!  The picture on the left is at one of the many basketball games we’ve been too.  Whit was so glad his Da was there.  The picture on the right is of Papa and Whit gathering wood for our fire.  He had to be right there helping Papa out!  He is definitely a man’s man and loves to spend time with his Daddy, Da, Papa, and his uncles!  He is a mess for sure.

So this is his favorite place in the house…..his room.  Before, in the old house, he didn’t have a room of his own.  His toys were in the living room and his clothes in the girl’s room.  Now he can be found in his room with ALL his toys spread throughout the room…..the train on one side, the farm butts up to that, and then the tractors are all over the place!

I found this old tractor at an antique shop in Blackshear last summer.  I watched it for about three months and then made an offer on it…….$30!!  It is made out of ply board and has some excellent details to it.  I was going to paint in red….we like red tractors around our farm….but I couldn’t. It looked so good all worn around the edges…I like that!

I looked for months for a tractor quilt or comforter and finally stumbled upon this one at overstock.com…..I love this store!!  Its a precious quilt with all the colors I had imagined for his room.

Within time I’m sure I’ll have his curtains up and the rest of Whit’s favorite place decorated and just like I want.  But for now I don’t think he minds! :)

Tuckered Out Tractor Boy

One afternoon, on our way to get the girls from school, Whit fell asleep.  When we got home I took him to his room and laid him on his bed.  Well he was starting to wake up so I snuck out quickly.  Hoping that he would go back to sleep.  A few minutes later I went back into his room to find this.  He had gotten out of the bed and started playing with his tractor only to go right back to sleep!  He did this twice!!  So sweet and precious that I had to share….I pray I never forget how sweet this age was/is.

The Sunbelt Ag Expo Trip

I am really behind on some of my posts, but better late than never I guess.  So on October 21st, CT and I took the little man to the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, GA.  CT and I both grew up coming to the expo and even in college we would work the expo for our schools.

We were really excited to take our little tractor boy to the expo for all the fun he could imagine! I bet it felt like Disney does to some of us.  This youngin’ LOVES tractors.  And even better, his Papa and Uncle Bubba were going to meet us there.  I think the only reason Papa came was to see how many tractors he and Whit could see in one day!!  Haha!

Papa and his buddy striking out to find some tractors to climb in

The day was perfect!  CT and I both agreed it was the best time we had ever had at the expo.  Just watching Whit seeing all the new tractors, getting to climb in on the tractors, and even getting some new ones of his own!

Birthday Bash

I thought the invitations turned out too cute! I was very pleased!

And here they are...Our Tractor Boy and Glamour Girl

At this age, cupcakes were definitely the way to go. Ms. Jessica did a GREAT job on these...not only were they cute but ohhh did they taste good! They were so much easier and just as cute with their polka dot holders and toppers!

The Glamour Girl (all red-faced from jumping on the playhouses ;-)

And our Tractor Boy so excited over his new toy! I LOVE this expression!

We are so blessed to have so many family and friends join us to celebrate our two little ones. They are so special to us and we thank you all for showing us how special they are to you!

Tractor Boy and Glamour Girl's Birthday Party

This past weekend was our Vera Kate and Whitman's birthday party. We had it at And Bounce in Blackshear. The kids had a blast jumping on ALL the bouncy stuff...as you can see from my VK's red face.
This is one of the many pictures I have to share. So until I get them all edited I'm leaving you with this sneak peek of the fun that was had.

Whitman is TWO!!!

Two years ago, a beautiful, healthy, baby boy came into our lives. We are forever grateful to our gracious Father who gave us another beautiful gift!
When I was pregnant with Lila Rae I said that she was it...no more. God has a plan for our lives and all we can do is trust Him to guide us through. We are so blessed that His plan included our Whitman Allen.
We love you baby boy! More than you could ever imagine! You are the tractor lovin', rough-rompin', little man we always imagined to have! But we NEVER imagined we could LOVE you as much as we do...you are so special to us!
Happy Birthday Whitman!
Love you always,
Momma, Daddy, Sissy, and V

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Randomness in Tyreville

Our hail storm May 2010

The hail was about the size of baseballs. It was a really strong storm that came about the second week in May. The kids and I were home alone, it was gettin' dark, and we were gettin' a little worried. But the storm passed, not before it left a trail of damage though! Lots of blueberry farms were destroyed, Cory's Momma and Daddy's tree fell on top of the kid's playground, trees were down EVERYWHERE, and we were without power for several hours.

But by the Grace of God everyone is alright and everything can be fixed!

My little man exploring around the house! We had baby kittens under the house and he was trying to catch one! So sweet...so summer...gotta love it!
