Callaway Gardens 2011
We were very blessed to visit Callaway Gardens last month. What a beautiful place! One afternoon we were having a cookout with our Young Farmer group, having a BLAST, and a rainstorm came up and RuInEd our good time.
It may have ruined the cookout but not the Tyre family’s evening. We rode around and saw beautiful places that were off the beaten path. It stopped raining so we decided to get on out of the car and explore.
We found a beautiful peek that had gorgeous gardens and scenery. Off on our adventure we went. With Daddy leading the way. I love taking non-posed pictures. And I couldn’t pass this one up. My babies following their Daddy where ever he may go. The song from Disney’s Peter Pan comes to mind. “We’re following the leader, the leader, the leader. We’re following the leader where ever he may go.” I love it!!
"For I have chosen him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice; in order that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him." Genesis 18:19

Me and the fish hunters
I am very blessed to have two brothers who adore my kids. And spoil them. And love them too pieces. That being said, my youngest brother, Uncle Bubba, is the fisherman of the family and bless his heart goes whenever the tractor isn’t calling.
My girls have been after Uncle Bubba for AWHILE to take them fishing….and since the girls asked they got it!!! Uncle Bubba got the boat and their Daddy got them fishing poles-pink ones-too cute!! LIl’ Bubba, aka Whitman, also got him a fishing rod…a little green one that was too sweet! We got our bait, drinks, ice, and we were ready to board the boat. I was equally excited because I hadn’t been out on the Gulf in along time.
It was a ReEL fun afternoon! Uncle Bubba took us to all kinds of trout holes. The kids were “reel” excited to each catch their own fish! Whitman was a little on the skittish side of the fish once they were in the boat. But he was all about catching them. He was too funny!!

V-Bug showing off her trout with her Daddy!!
It was a great trip with lots of great memories. We can’t wait for many more memories Uncle Bubba and Daddy put together!!
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” Matthew 4:19

Fourth FUN
Granny and her babies in the Cedar Key 4th Golf Cart Parade
What fun we had on the fourth this year! LOTS and LOTS of FUN!! We started our day out with the golf cart parade around the island of Cedar Key…we’ve been participating in this for years…and the kids really enjoy it…OK, OK, so do the adults!!
We loved our golf cart this year that Daddy got us! It was perfect for everyone to ride on! She was nick-named “the limo” by all the kids!!
Another fun thing we did for the fourth was spend time with cousins! Aunt Sarah had us all over to her house for some “4th cupcake decorating” fun!!
~~ firework fun ~~
Our family is very grateful for the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country, fighting for our freedom. I know the 4th is to celebrate our country’s freedom but let us not forget the greatest freedom that ever was…….our freedom from sin.
Hope your 4th was as special and memorable as ours!

A Peaceful Place
Since I was a little girl, our family has been taking regular trips to a unique, little, island off the Gulf. You see, my Granny and Grandpa Folks had a place on this beautiful piece of heaven. She was raised there. So it was convenient to just take off and go there, but also meaningful. This beautiful, quaint, fisherman’s village, is known as Cedar Key.
Throughout my entire life if ever I needed a place to go……a peaceful place…..it was Cedar Key. If ever a friend or family member was in need of a peaceful place….the family always made it available for them. Now that I have a family and live so far away from my peaceful place its hard to make time to get there. Thankfully every 4th of July our family congregates there. Not just for family fun, fireworks, fishing, and the golf cart rides, but for a peaceful place.
We all farm in my family. My dad and brothers have peanuts and a hay business. While we have our hay operation. This is a busy time of year….very busy….for all of us. Even if our get-away is only for a few days, our peaceful place allows time for rest and rejuvenation. I LOVE our peaceful place.
This was our view from the porch….love, love, love it!!
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

I heart Etsy and ALL it’s inspiration!
For over two years I have been doing some shopping on Etsy…..and I love it!! I have found the cutest things for my kids, our home, and myself.
Last year I found these pennants on Etsy and I just had to have them…..but I talked myself out of them! ugh! I usually do this. I told myself that if I still wanted them for the next year’s birthday parties that I would get ‘em. Well the parties were getting closer and I really wanted to get these. I was talking to my MIL about them and she was convinced that we could make them. So after figuring out how much I would save I COMPLETELY agreed!!
I had lots of fabric left over from all sorts of projects and outfits I had made for the girls (I don’t ever throw away scraps of fabric…I love to recycle them ;) ). Plus all the ribbon I had in my stash would be perfect to attach the pennants together.
It was a great team effort. I made a template and then cut out all the pennants and my MIL did the sewing…I DO NOT SEW!! So like I said it was a great team effort! AND they came out TOO cute!! I was so excited to see the results hanging on my porch banister. It added so much to the party decor. I can’t wait to use them again.
Not only was I inspired to make the pennants but also the cupcakes and the cupcake tower. I think it all turned out pretty cute for our “Fish Fun” birthday parties!
More pics to come soon of our summer fun and the kid’s birthday party!!!

Blessings…..BIG and small
This week was filled with LOTS of blessings. Some are those blessings that are easily overlooked sometimes, and others were blessings I have been praying for.
We started out our week with a fantastic black-light production from our church and children. The kids did a great job! In fact, it was so awesome that the members of the church are asking for another performance tomorrow night. Who are we to turn down the Lord’s request? Right?? So another exciting night at church is coming and I couldn’t be more proud of our kids!
For the past several summers our family has participated in my BIL and SIL’s church’s VBS. What a blessing this has been to our home! My kids ABSOLUTELY LOVE going to their cousin’s church to learn more about God. We have made life-long friends and life-long commitments during our visits to Pine Level. We are very thankful for the open arms and love shown every time we return! I especially enjoyed this year’s theme…..Kickin’ It Old School! It was so much fun! My Whitman really came out of his shell, soaking up all the songs and stories being taught. My Cora Jane loves Bible Story time and loves to share with EVERYONE the lessons learned each evening. My Vera Kate’s passion this week was…don’t get me wrong this chica loves to sing and play games…….but when she heard about the CONTEST….. it was on. This is one competitive lil girl!! She had to make sure that the girl’s brought enough money in for the Missions Contest……for the Mission but also so her sweet Ms. Lora didn’t have to get a pie in the face!!! My VK has a heart of gold!!! Too bad the girls lost though :(
If putting on the armor of God every night this week and Kickin’ it Old School wasn’t enough, we played hard everyday! Swimming with friends and family, working in the yard and garden, putting up vegetables (one of my favorite things to do), and well just being summer babies!!
I had a HUGE answered prayer this week! One of my nearest and dearest friends had shared, a few weeks ago, of a possible lump found. MY JESUS came through…..our prayers were answered!! Her test results came back beautifully! Just goes to show you what can happen when two or more are gathered in HIS name, PRAISING HIM for HIS BLESSINGS and presenting HIM with a THANKFUL heart!! MY GOD ROCKS!!!
Not to mention the rain my JESUS sent us this week….RAIN is a necessity in our line of business! Especially right now on our fields. We are so thankful for the rain HE is going to send our way….HE knows our NEEDS!!!
So very thankful for all the many blessings…BIG and small…..my GOD has placed in my path this week.

Real Quick – Where We’ve Been
Cora Jane, Whitman, and Vera Kate
Things have been kinda crazy around here since we got back from Disney this week. We were so blessed to be able to attend a Farm Bureau Young Farmer’s conference at one of Disney’s resorts. Part of the time we were in sessions and the other part we were enjoying the parks.
Cory and I got to see Epcot with friends one night..without kids!! WOW, was that fun. Before we left the conference, my parents brought the kids to WDW and us so we could take them to the park. All and all it was a great trip and I can’t wait to share ALL the details with you. But for now there is laundry backed up a mile long, homework coming out my ears, and well the day to day ways of life are piling up on me. Sorry blog your gonna have to wait…..the children and dirty household are calling my name!

December Randomness
Complete randomness!! There were so many things that happened in December I didn’t want to miss any of these special moments! From playing with baby goats at our friend’s house, the Christmas parade, and making gingerbread houses with friends, this month was filled with lots of special moments to fill in the gaps of everyday life.
What a great month! God was awesome to us this month…..as if He isn’t ALL the time!! ;-) SO much to do…so little time! Thankfully friends, family, and our Savior are the reasons for this season. Time with them, reflecting on the birth of our King, and serving others less fortunate….that is our month in a nut shell……what a great month!

Christmas Day 2010
Christmas morning was a sweet one. The girls got up and were ready to go. Their Daddy woke Whitman up and then it was on. I made them wait down the hall while I went into the living room. I wanted to video their reactions….those moments are priceless!
SIssy was so excited she got her Big girl bike! What a sweet memory!
Vbug lovin’ on her new Go Go my Walkin’ Pup
Bubba “choo-chooing” along with his new train
I loved this day! What a beautiful, special day! The kids played with their toys all day. We stayed in our pajamas. We ate and we played. We ate and we played. It was GREAT!! We spent the evening with Cory’s parents….eating…haha!! The only thing missing was my family. My parents usually spend Christmas Day with us, but this year they stayed home to celebrate with family. They were definitely missed.
Celebrating Jesus’ birthday was extraordinary! How blessed I am that He gave me my family, my health, and my home for His birthday. I am NOT worthy…but He is worthy of EVERYTHING I have and MORE!

Awaiting their Special Visitor - Santa
Someone isn’t very sleepy….but him and Woody did make it to bed early
After the cookies were baked and placed out on their plate, a heaping glass of milk was poured, and their letters to Santa written, these little angels made their way to bed. Anticipating their secret visitor and all the goodies he would bring.

Christmas Eve with the Tyres’
I just adore this picture of my kids and my nephews. It was a task to get them all looking the same way, smiling, not crying, and not fidgeting. It took 6 adults and a lot of patience, but the outcome is just perfect!
For Christmas Eve, we gather at my in-laws house for the best low-country boil I eat ALL year! Cory’s Momma and Daddy go all out with the food….as usual….and it is always spectacular.
Yeah, at this point they had had enough of the picture taking and were ready for some presents!
Phil, Christy, Trey, and Jesse

Once we got all our pictures out of the way it was time to eat and then open gifts………
So after we exchanged gifts it was time for Grandma and Da’s big surprise for the kids……
What a great afternoon we had with family. Its always a blessing for us all to get together. I am very thankful for my mother and father in law and all they do for our families. With my family being so far away its a comfort to know that I have them I can go too.
