Being Christian is Like Being a Pumpkin

Happy Pumpkin Day!

"Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.

Then he cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.

He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.,and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

I pray you have safe and happy halloween! And I have to say...

Go Gators...go get them Dawgs!

God is good...All the time,

Mr. Pumpkin Head

Whitman's is the cat, Vbug's a bear, Sissy a puppy-dog, and mine is the pig

Vera Kate and her bear

Cora Jane and her dog

It was so much fun for ALL of them!

Isn't this just precious! He was decorating his "kitty, kitty"

These are the AwESoMe pumpkins that we got from the patch last weekend!

Monday afternoon, we all got on the front porch and decorated our pumpkins like Mr. Potato Heads. This was the first year we used this technique to design our pumpkins and man was it EasY! The kids love it! I loved it! I wasn't having to constantly say "be careful", "get back from the knife", and so on! This way is MUCH better! This is God's gift to Mommy's for Halloween...lol!

Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch Part II

The Crop Hopper..too cool!

I want one in my back yard.....talk about good exercise..LOL!

Me and my boy...isn't he just precious in his little outfit!

There goes the moo train....with my little pumpkins

The girls and Whitman riding their cows

Sissy LOVES animals!

Sissy is a deputy

Watch out here comes that Vbug officer

And the mighty Sheriff is here

My last post I shared some pics from our Pumpkin Patch outing last weekend. And here is the rest of the story.....

We had a great time! These pics are from the cow train and the Crop Hopper.

Let me tell you about this Crop Hopper. This thing is so cool! I just love it!

It is huge and you can have LOTS of people on it at one time! Even better the littlest ones can get on too.....even us bigger ones! This was the new addition to Poppell's Patch this year and I have to say my kids LOVED it! They stayed on it more than anything else. In fact we skipped the hay ride so we could jump on it. A hay ride to my youngin's is like taking a ride on the four-wheeler-we may not ride it everyday but its right there when we want too.

The cow train was too cute...the girls had been on it before but not Whit. His big Sissy rode with him.

Bless your children and grandchildren through your godly life.

Pumpkins Pics

My three 'lil pumpkins

Again

My Family

And the race is on...duck race that is!

Don't let those faces fool you! They are some competitive little boogers.

Pumpkin Time!! Well I got my wish and got to go to the pumpkin patch last weekend! WhooHoo!

Poppell's Pumpkin Patch, in Odum, GA., is by far the best around these parts! Every year it gets better and better.

So we got there and Sissy kept telling Vbug that she was the expert on the place because she had been there before..haha! I swear, they will come up with anything to out do the other! I guess its in their nature! Lord bless 'em!

But we had the best time! We didn't get to do everything because we had to get back for church but that was ok with the kiddos. All they wanted to do was the Crop Hopper! It is FUN! You will see more pics to come! But anyways, we had a blast with the kids and we are so blessed to be able to spend this quality time together! God is so good...isn't He?!

You know me I took tons and tons of pics so we will consider this Pumpkin Pics...Part 1.

Hope you enjoy! Happy soon-to-be Pumpkin Day!

We have around us many people whose lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is before us and never give up.

Gator Girl

Cora Jane loves the Florida Gators

I love this picture! She is such a ham sometimes!

And my little Gator is wore out...she just couldn't stay up and watch the game.

Our house is one that is divided when it comes to college football. I bleed orange and blue and Cory has been a Georgia Bulldog since he was born. We have one agreement, when it comes to the rivalry, that neither of us are aloud to buy the kids anything bearing our team's logo/colors. So its up to the families to keep them in their favorite team's garment!
When I was pregnant with Whitman my cousin, Anita Jo, gave me a Florida football suit with all the trimmings! Whitman is quite big enough to wear it but his sisters are! Cora Jane loves to put on the helmet when Florida plays. She loves to stay up with me and watch the games...she is going to be my Gator!! I don't know about the other two yet!
One thing, though, is she hates to disappoint her Daddy and so she is so torn on who to cheer for this weekend! Bless her heart she is dramatic by nature so any little thing gets her worked up. So you can only imagine her feelings. She loves the Gators but she loves her Daddy more! HAHA!
We shall see!
Things around here are real busy with Halloween this weekend. Our church is having a Trick a Trunk Festival which is always lots of fun. I am looking forward to ALL our costumes!
This past weekend we went to the Pumpkin Patch and had a blast! I hope to get pics up soon. You know, I got a new camera for my birthday and well I can't get the pictures from the camera to my computer. I have downloaded everything and hooked everything up but its still not working! Aggravating!
Hope you all have a beautiful Hump Day!
Even though you are bad, you know how to give good gifts to your children. How much more your heavenly Father will give good things to those who ask him!

Lila Rae's Heavenly Birthday

This is the day the Lord has made. We will REJOICE and be glad in it.

It was three years ago this day that Cory and I gave our precious, beautiful, auburn hair, blue eyed, baby girl to the Lord.

She had fighting so hard for so many weeks and her little body just couldn't take it anymore.

Cory and I had just come back, to the CICU, from lunch when the doctors met us at her bed. They told me it was time to hold my baby. I knew this was it. I hadn't got to hold her but only a few moments until this. Cory and I sat there all night long until she went to be with the Lord. I held her in my arms for 12 straight hours...the Lord had given me a good bladder for a reason! There was no way I was putting her down for anything!

I get goose-bumps when I think of how she went from my arms to our Saviours. We handed her over to Him. Knowing that she would be healthy...something we tried to desperately to give her. God could give her so much more than we ever thought we could.

I am waiting for the day that my Jesus will say well done my good and faithful servant. And then He will hand Lila Rae to me so that I can hold her for eternity.

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”

Cora Jane's Pumpkin Patch Trip

The HUGE jumping thing
The cow train

Cora Jane, her new friend and her pumpkin

Some of those things were bigger than Whit

Cora Jane's buddy Caraline and her find for the day

I don't think we can even pick that one up!

Cora Jane was made to be a Big Sister....she is so good at it!

Cora Jane's classmates

A few weeks ago Cora Jane's class went to Poppel's Pumpkin Patch in Odum. The kids got to see all kinds of farm animals, ride on a cow train, have duck races, feed the catfish, play on the HUGE jumping thing, slide down tunnels, and of course the hay ride to pick their own pumpkin in the field! It was all very exciting!
Cora Jane was so sweet to see about Whitman. He of course went with us and this was his first pumpkin patch experience! Cora Jane helped him pick one out but all he wanted to do was throw them! He thought they were balls and so he was throwin' them everywhere! HaHa!
Cora Jane and her classmates picked out some great pumpkins but were never still enough for me to get pics of all of them. It didn't help that is was REALLY HOT!!! Oh my goodness was it hot!!
Vera Kate's class was supposed to go this past week but got rained out. They will hopefully take that trip in November. However, I have to have some cute pics of my youngin's and their cute halloween/fall clothing so I'm hoping for a trip to the patch this weekend. We shall see! You never know with Cory and since we're in the middle of harvesting hay I don't know if he'll make it or not. It might be some other Mommas and Myself!
Well I hope your weekend is going well. I am glad that things around here have slowed down! Its a laid back weekend until the Gator game! Good luck Gators!

The End of a Season

For those of you who don't know, Big Red and I own and operate a hay operation. The harvest time for us is usually long because we are very blessed to get several cuttin's off our properties. Well this week is officially the last week of harvest for us. All hands are on deck and the cuttin', fluffin', and balin' has started! We have been super blessed to have BEAUTIFUL fields this year. I have always said that Cory and the good Lord work great together..lol!
These are a few pics from the last cuttin' at the farm. The fields are so luscious with green grass...God's work is truly amazing. So PRAISE the Lord this year's harvest season is almost over. There are many things that we always anticipate on doing with the family once this season is finished, and I can only pray that we are able to fulfill some of those hopes.
I would LoVE to take the kiddos to Disney...we shall see! God has His master plan! Lord knows that I have made plenty of plans that God just laughs at....knowing His plans are better...and that's what usually happens. I know he loves to laugh at me. You know those little chuckles we do at our kids when they do something silly or childish....that's how He laughs at me! HaHa!
Anywhos, we are super excited around our house for the seasons of fall to be here and for our harvest season coming to an end.
I know there are seasons in all of our lives that we excited to see coming and going. My prayer is that whatever season you are in that you embrace it and the beauty of God everywhere you turn.
'For at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up'
