Christmas Eve 2009...seeing Santa one more time!

Christmas Eve morning we got up and got ready to go to the bank! That's right I was taking ALL the kids to the bank! Santa Claus was going to be there and we were gonna make sure we saw him one last time! My good friend Lorie works at the bank and was taking pictures for everyone. She got some AWESOME pics but my scanner won't work so I can't share them. She is so sweet! She got LOTS of great shots of the kids with Santa. Our bank has some WONDERFUL people that work there and we are so BLESSED to know and work with them.

I just LOVE this pic! Whitman LOVES Santa!

After pictures we went on to Grandma and Da's house to get ready for our Christmas celebration with our family. I managed to get a few pics of the kids and me before everyone arrived. I tried getting a couple with Cory too but by that time the kids were going stir crazy over opening presents! They had had it with so many posed pics!
This is one of my favorites because its with my self timer! I think its the first one I've ever taken, with that feature, that turned out decent!

The Wedding Preparations

The day of PJ and Amanda's wedding, my girls, my Momma and I had appointments with my good friend Kim. This was my girl's first time getting their hair done for an event and so they knew exactly what they wanted their hair to look like...or so they thought.

Vera Kate said all along that she wanted to put her hair up like a princess! OMG!!!! This was a nightmare. Poor Kim! She is probably never going to want to do another little girl's hair after VK! Bless her heart! VK cried and cried and cried the whole time! We finally got it up and done and she was so exhausted from crying that she fell asleep! This was an experience I will never forget! At least she knows now that its not just Momma who brushes hard! HA!

Can you tell the fake smile....bless her heart!

Cora Jane was a PRO! She knew exactly what she wanted and she didn't flinch one time! She had a great time and loved every moment of it. She said she felt like a princess...sooo sweet!

Isn't she a doll!

God is so good to have given me such beautiful gifts,

PJ and Amanda's Rehearsal Dinner

The weekend of the 19th our little family headed to Florida to my brother PJ's wedding. Trips home are always long and eventful and of course this one was no exception. Before we even got started Cora Jane got sick and was feeling yucky. So we let her take a nap..for Cora Jane that is way out of character. I knew that her little body was just exhausted from all the going we had been doing.
So we finally got on the road and we didn't even make it to Waycross before the kids started fussing. So I broke out my secret weapon....G Force! The girls were so excited! Whit was just glad there was something on the TV other than Barbie! Ha! After that we had a pretty smooth ride.

We didn't make it to the rehearsal we made it to the important part....the dinner! I was so excited! The dinner was at Juliet Falls. I hadn't been there yet but had heard the food and atmosphere were great! It was so beautiful decorated all for Christmas. Of course I didn't get any pics of the country club or its food, but I did get pics of my children! Ha!

This is my adopted brother, JJ and his beautiful girlfriend Justine. They are so cute!

And of course me and my cutie!

My beautiful Momma and equally beautiful Cora Jane.

We had a great time! Great food, friends, family, and fellowship! I am so blessed to have the love my family shares! We are so excited to have Amanda as part of the family and can't wait to extend that love to her as well. Of course I didn't get a pic of my brother or Amanda at the dinner, but there are some beautiful pics of them from the wedding coming soon.

God is so good, ALL the time,

Merry CHRISTmas everyone! May we all remember the sweet, beautiful, baby boy that was born on this very special day. His name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
Throughout this "holiday" season, my prayer is that CHRIST is remembered for his birthday and His life here on earth, what He did for you and me, and for what He continues to do.
Happy Birthday Jesus!
May everyone know your story.....
Luke 2:1-20
The Birth of Jesus
1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to his own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
The Shepherds and the Angels
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

CHRISTmas Play 2009

Sunday, the 13th, was the annual Christmas play at our church. The kids are ALWAYS involved in whatever the church is doing and this was no exception! Cora Jane and Vera Kate LOVE all the singing and they even got their own solos this year! We (the church) try and make sure that all the kids get a little speaking or singing part of their own...it makes the event even more special for them.

God has truly blessed our little church with LOTS of kids! A couple of years ago, we did a play very similar to the one this year. Well since then we have more than doubled the children in our program! God is so good!

The play is set in a manger scene with Mary, Joseph, the angels, shepherds, and wise men being played by our 4-7 yr. olds. The barn animals that you see running around are our 18 month old toddlers! They were too cute! At one point you can see that the moms made a mad dash across the screen.....they were trying to catch the "Loose Livestock"!!!! It was hysterical! Poor Cora Jane was trying to sing her solo when Whit (the cow) and his other barnyard buddies tried to take out the Christmas Tree. But Cora Jane never once flinched! She sang her little heart out! Vera Kate was so proud of herself for learning her part! She did a great job and she even had her own solo...even if she didn't know ALL the words that well!

We are so blessed to have a GREAT church family! After the play, Santa joined Jesus' Birthday Party and shared his toys with all the boys and girls. I was especially thankful to have my parents, brother, and future SIL there to share the occasion. My wonderful MIL made it but only for a few minutes....my FIL was feeling really ill and needed to rest so she went on home to be with him. Praise the Lord he is feeling better and almost back to himself...just in time for Christmas.

Merry CHRISTmas,
