Easter weekend brought lots of fun and excitement around our house. None more exciting though than Daddy's bday!!! That night we had a pool party at his parents house. The water was perfect, the food was delicious, and the fellowship was great!
I am so thankful for my sweet, loving, and good-lookin' husband! I am truly blessed to have him as a husband and best friend!
Hope you had a great birthday babe!

It was the last day of school before spring break and what a way to go. Easter egg hunt and lunch at B-King! The Honor Society at ACA helps every year hide the eggs and then helps the kids find them. I remember when we did this with CJ and now we're doing it with VK!
Whit even got to participate!
We are so blessed to have ACA. And I am so blessed to be able to attend my girl's functions.

Girls Trip to Charleston

I have these three BFFs from college, Mandy, Erin, and Jennifer. We were all roommates at ABAC and have been the best of friends since then.....goin' on 12 years now! WOW!
So every year we manage to get together, but since we've had kids its always with them. The last time we ALL got together without children was right after Lila Rae died and we took off to Nashville. So three and half years has gone by and we decided it was time for another girl trip before someone has another baby...haha! So Charleston it was!
I had never been and oh what fun we had! We got a FREE suite, downtown Charleston, thanks to Jenn! It was beautiful! The city is just gorgeous with all its beautiful homes and gardens! I just love the southern history with it all. I think I could live there!
We had some trials getting us all there and then Erin and I had to come back early (youngin's ;>) Nevertheless, we managed to have a FANTASTIC time together, as always!
Here are some pics from our trip. Mostly we planned everything around what restaurant we were eating at, or what tour we were going on. There wasn't much shopping on this trip except for the market. I just loved Charleston and I can't wait to take Cory back there...he will love it! And I just love my girls and I can't wait for ALL the memories we're going to make in the future!

Mandy and Erin at the Crabhouse...yum. yum!!

Jenn, me, and Erin at the Battery

I just LOVE this pic...we had a professional take it...seriously!

This house is waterfront and is the most photographed house in Charleston.

We toured this house (I can't remember the name) but it was AWESOME!!
Most of the house hadn't been changed since the 1800's. This was the best tour..by far!!

Overall, we had a great trip! Learned ALOT of stuff, made wonderful memories, and got to see a beautiful new city! Ok, girls were is our next trip too? And remember we're all about planning around babies so it might be a couple more years!!

God is so good to give beautiful friendships that bless my life everyday,

We're Back! Sorry its been awhile!

So the last post I made was over a month ago and what a month it was!!! March was a crazy month filled with lots of emotional and spiritual tests. We haven't made a complete decision about our future home but God continues to show us His way everyday! I have stopped asking for an escape in our future situation and started letting Him just lead me. This is a very difficult task for me, as I am VERY much independent.
LOTS and LOTS has happened in our family this past month. All kinds of activities, including Cory's birthday and Easter. We are on spring break right now and so I am going to try and get us caught up with posts. This is the longest I've been without posting and I hope it doesn't happen again. This is tough trying to get back going.
So here we go...........................................

St. Jude's Trike-a-Thon...ACA Style

On March 26th, Vera Kate's class at ACA participated in St. Jude's Children's Hospital's Trike-a-thon ( i think i might have put too many 's ;>). They had a blast! Whitman and I got the opportunity to go and take pics and cheer our Vbug and friends on!

Vera Kate did an awesome job! She definitely had her game face on! She won her race both times. She was so excited!!

Waiting for the Trike-a-thon story to finish

Jesse Durant was ready to go too!

God We're Waiting

I am a firm believer in that God won't give you more than you can handle, but do you sometimes wish He didn't think you were so strong? I'm tellin' you that God has placed some major hurdles in mine and Cory's short marriage (7 yrs)! You would think that they would ease up.....but NOOOO! Some hurdles are much tougher than others but they all still hurt, one way or another.

Cory and I have been wanting to buy/build a home for a long time. But when your building a business and a family, the money seems to filter to other areas. We are very blessed to be renting a home, in the country, on one of the farms we lease, but in the last few years situations surrounding our home have brought us to seek other avenues much faster than expected.

I know God is leading us in a direction that is His but I am scared. Ever been there? I want to make sure that we are doing His will and not our own! I am so scared of making the wrong turn down this path of home ownership.
My dear friend, Lara, is a prayer warrior and the other day she shared a verse with me that I now have posted next to my desk that I can read everyday. 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." This reminds me to have God's spirit dwelling in me....NOT the devil's!! Fear is only of the devil!
Another verse that has been popping up in my mind, the last few days, is "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31.
And then there is my fave verse of ALL time. I know this has been my favorite since I was a little girl! Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with ALL thine heart. Lean not on thine OWN understandings. In ALL thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."
So my conclusion has been this. I am going to have a spirit of love and power while a wait on the Lord's direction. I am going to trust in His ways and not what I think I know or understand! Through this I KNOW that Cory and I will make the right decisions. God's timing is everything and well.......God we're waiting!

God is good.....ALL the time,
