Weekend in Florida

This past weekend, my bunch and I went back home to see my parents and family. My Mom's birthday and Mother's Day are always right there together and so it was a weekend of celebrations.

On Saturday, my brother Ned Henry (Uncle Bubba), rented a pontoon boat for us to cruise the river and swim. We had a BALL!! The only problem was that the girls wanted to swim the moment we got on the boat! They did not want to sit and ride they wanted to SWIM!!

Whitman LOVED helping Uncle Bubba drive the boat! If there is a motor on it, Whit wants to control it!!

Swimming in the river! We couldn't find a spot that was shallow enough so we swam with the boat as it floated! Cory and I got our workout trying to swim up-stream holding a kid!!

I just LOVE this picture!

This is the "honeymoon cottage" that Cory and I stayed at our first night as Mr. and Mrs. Cory Tyre.

My wonderful, loving, parents.

Here is captain Uncle Bubba and his helper Whitman

The beautiful Rainbow River/Blue Run that I grew up on.

My boys!

For lunch we ate at The Blue Gator! Oh my, it was so good! Plus its right on the river which was great! After we finished swimming and docked the boat we walked right up to the restaurant. It was so convenient and delicious!

Vk hammin' it up with her lemons!

My sweet hubby sneaking some sugar!

My SIL, Amanda, and brother PJ.....and their addition which will be here in July!!

WooooHOOO is he handsome or what!!
I, on the other hand, am looking swollen...yikes!!!

We are so blessed to have a loving family like we do!

Muffins with Mommy

Yesterday Vera Kate's class had Muffins with Mommy, at school, in honor of Mother's Day. Since we were in Florida and couldn't attend, we decided to have our own. We went to one of my favorite places in D-town.....Go-For Donuts!! Yum, yum! I just love their sour cream glazed donuts.....ooohhhh they are so good!
CJ and W went with us and we had a sweet time! I just love my babies and all the fun times we're having!

Our Beautiful Baby Names

I love to read Kelly's Korner and on her blog she does this Show Us Your Life Fridays. Yesterday's was show us your baby names and well I missed the day but I still wanted to share were our kid's names come from. We are ALWAYS getting compliments on our kid's names and so what a better way to share with everyone were they came from then to tell you right here.

Alot of people think that Cora Jane came from mine and Cory's name together but that just isn't the way it happened. In fact, CJ is named after my great aunt for whom I am named after. Her name was Cora Jane but she was called Janie. There was never any doubt that CJ was going to be our first little girl's name. Cory and I loved it and decided on it when we were still dating. Its a beautiful, unique, family name that fits our little red head to a T!!

Vera Katherine is our second little girl. Vera was my husband's grandma's name (with whom he was very close with) and it was also his older sister's name that passed away when she was just a little girl. Katherine came from my side of the family it was my aunt's middle name. She passed away when she was baby and well I just LOVE the name Katherine.

When we found out we were pregnant with our third little girl I wanted Lila as a first name. My great aunt's name was Lily and so we just modified it a little. And I have ALWAYS loved the name Rae. Several of my great aunts have this in their names and I had to use it. So our precious angel is Lila Rae.

Well Mr. Man through us a curve ball and we had NO idea what little boy name we were gonna use!! We had boy names picked out before but threw those out and wanted something else. Whitman Allen came from my great great aunt's maiden name and my husband's middle name. When my mom told Cory the name Whitman that was it.....that's the name that he liked! And I wanted some of Cory in the name and that's were Allen came in!

I don't know if we'll have any more kids, but I will always LOVE putting together baby names!

Field Trip to the Sea Turtle Hospital on Jekyll Island

Coming onto Jekyll Island

Whitman checking some of the exhibit

My girls having a BLAST at the hospital

This was my first experience with my blackberry camera and the pics turned out ALOT smaller than I had expected so you'll have to be patient with me!
We took this trip with CJ's class. VK really wanted to go and I just couldn't say no. So as long as it was ok with CJ I didn't care. Whit was already going and so it was only fair that VK come along too. We had a great time! Whit wore me out so I didn't get to enjoy the exhibits as much as everyone else but that's ok too!
The girls loved the hospital! It was so neat to see that there are some causes out there that are really doing GREAT work. I was shocked at the facilities.......they were so advanced. I honestly expected to see some old displays of turtles from the 70's....haha!!
But seriously, we had a really good time. Our leader took us the wrong way and we ended up over an hour late but thank God for good friends to ride with! My kids and I got to ride with our friends on this trip and what a great time we had! It was a wonderful time to catch up on each other's lives!

April's Randomness

Whitman playing in the saw-dust at the livestock barn. I was helping teach/coordinate a Farm Safety class for BCMS. Thank God this sawdust was clean...unlike the last time..lol!

Cory rocking our "little man" and his "little girlfriend" Addie

My little bakers making some yummy cookies

And you have to be fashionable while baking!! The Easter bunny brought them these! Aren't they too cute!

Cowboy Day at church was a huge success! I was running around crazy and only ended up with this picture of my cowboys. My little cowgirls were too excited to sit still long enough for a picture

This is my nephew Jesse playing ball...he was so much fun to watch!

Whitman and Da watching Jesse play ball. Whit wanted SO BADLY to play too!

Here is Jesse again getting ready to smack the ball out there!
The Grey Raiders were too fearless and had too much fun. We are so proud of our Jesse Durant. God has blessed us with the opportunity to sponsor Jesse's team, and what a privilege it was to see them having so much fun.
God's Blessings are so ABUNDANT!

God is so good to give us these experiences to make AWESOME memories! We are so blessed!

Prevailing Prayer

God has been working with me on my prayer life. My time with Him. Yes I pray ALL day long, but do I have that special time with just me and Him!

In the mornings, I have been fighting with the desire for quiet time and the urge to stay curled up under the warm blankets. And guess what??? For the most part the urges won...unfortunately. However, on the mornings that I started out right, with quiet time, my days were so much better and happier! God prepared me for the day. I was ready. I had my armor on. Isn't He amazing!!! My prayer is that I can continue with early morning rises. To awaken and know that my God is waiting patiently for me is hard to explain....I'm speechless. He is so AMAZINGLY good to me. I have changed my "to-do" list. Its no longer Devotional time....its God time!! When I think about Him waiting for me in the living room, I don't want to disappoint Him. So I go.

Hopefully, this will continue and I will make it a habit to have coffee with my Jesus every morning! He sure does make the day better when I start it with Him!

Here is just a little clip of Jentezen Franklin on Prevailing Prayer. If you've never had the opportunity to hear him speak look for him on YouTube or the Christian Network (CNT). He is non-denominational and very strong in his presentation of the Bible!

Have a great weekend everyone!
