Our Beautiful Baby Names

I love to read Kelly's Korner and on her blog she does this Show Us Your Life Fridays. Yesterday's was show us your baby names and well I missed the day but I still wanted to share were our kid's names come from. We are ALWAYS getting compliments on our kid's names and so what a better way to share with everyone were they came from then to tell you right here.

Alot of people think that Cora Jane came from mine and Cory's name together but that just isn't the way it happened. In fact, CJ is named after my great aunt for whom I am named after. Her name was Cora Jane but she was called Janie. There was never any doubt that CJ was going to be our first little girl's name. Cory and I loved it and decided on it when we were still dating. Its a beautiful, unique, family name that fits our little red head to a T!!

Vera Katherine is our second little girl. Vera was my husband's grandma's name (with whom he was very close with) and it was also his older sister's name that passed away when she was just a little girl. Katherine came from my side of the family it was my aunt's middle name. She passed away when she was baby and well I just LOVE the name Katherine.

When we found out we were pregnant with our third little girl I wanted Lila as a first name. My great aunt's name was Lily and so we just modified it a little. And I have ALWAYS loved the name Rae. Several of my great aunts have this in their names and I had to use it. So our precious angel is Lila Rae.

Well Mr. Man through us a curve ball and we had NO idea what little boy name we were gonna use!! We had boy names picked out before but threw those out and wanted something else. Whitman Allen came from my great great aunt's maiden name and my husband's middle name. When my mom told Cory the name Whitman that was it.....that's the name that he liked! And I wanted some of Cory in the name and that's were Allen came in!

I don't know if we'll have any more kids, but I will always LOVE putting together baby names!

Field Trip to the Sea Turtle Hospital on Jekyll Island

Coming onto Jekyll Island

Whitman checking some of the exhibit

My girls having a BLAST at the hospital

This was my first experience with my blackberry camera and the pics turned out ALOT smaller than I had expected so you'll have to be patient with me!
We took this trip with CJ's class. VK really wanted to go and I just couldn't say no. So as long as it was ok with CJ I didn't care. Whit was already going and so it was only fair that VK come along too. We had a great time! Whit wore me out so I didn't get to enjoy the exhibits as much as everyone else but that's ok too!
The girls loved the hospital! It was so neat to see that there are some causes out there that are really doing GREAT work. I was shocked at the facilities.......they were so advanced. I honestly expected to see some old displays of turtles from the 70's....haha!!
But seriously, we had a really good time. Our leader took us the wrong way and we ended up over an hour late but thank God for good friends to ride with! My kids and I got to ride with our friends on this trip and what a great time we had! It was a wonderful time to catch up on each other's lives!

April's Randomness

Whitman playing in the saw-dust at the livestock barn. I was helping teach/coordinate a Farm Safety class for BCMS. Thank God this sawdust was clean...unlike the last time..lol!

Cory rocking our "little man" and his "little girlfriend" Addie

My little bakers making some yummy cookies

And you have to be fashionable while baking!! The Easter bunny brought them these! Aren't they too cute!

Cowboy Day at church was a huge success! I was running around crazy and only ended up with this picture of my cowboys. My little cowgirls were too excited to sit still long enough for a picture

This is my nephew Jesse playing ball...he was so much fun to watch!

Whitman and Da watching Jesse play ball. Whit wanted SO BADLY to play too!

Here is Jesse again getting ready to smack the ball out there!
The Grey Raiders were too fearless and had too much fun. We are so proud of our Jesse Durant. God has blessed us with the opportunity to sponsor Jesse's team, and what a privilege it was to see them having so much fun.
God's Blessings are so ABUNDANT!

God is so good to give us these experiences to make AWESOME memories! We are so blessed!

Prevailing Prayer

God has been working with me on my prayer life. My time with Him. Yes I pray ALL day long, but do I have that special time with just me and Him!

In the mornings, I have been fighting with the desire for quiet time and the urge to stay curled up under the warm blankets. And guess what??? For the most part the urges won...unfortunately. However, on the mornings that I started out right, with quiet time, my days were so much better and happier! God prepared me for the day. I was ready. I had my armor on. Isn't He amazing!!! My prayer is that I can continue with early morning rises. To awaken and know that my God is waiting patiently for me is hard to explain....I'm speechless. He is so AMAZINGLY good to me. I have changed my "to-do" list. Its no longer Devotional time....its God time!! When I think about Him waiting for me in the living room, I don't want to disappoint Him. So I go.

Hopefully, this will continue and I will make it a habit to have coffee with my Jesus every morning! He sure does make the day better when I start it with Him!

Here is just a little clip of Jentezen Franklin on Prevailing Prayer. If you've never had the opportunity to hear him speak look for him on YouTube or the Christian Network (CNT). He is non-denominational and very strong in his presentation of the Bible!

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Toothless Grin

Sissy with her BeAuTIfUL toothless grin!

I don't know who was more excited? CJ or VK??

It was Easter Sunday, CJ had just discovered that her tooth was loose. Well bless her heart she messed with that thing ALL day long until it came out! She was tickled pink!! She finally lost her first tooth!
At first I thought VK would do one of those "Sissy's tooth came out, I want my tooth to come out too," whining fits. But surprisingly she was even more excited that CJ! I was very proud of my baby girl!
CJ finally got to use the little tooth fairy pillow Mrs. Marsena gave her when she was a baby, and that tooth fairy finally got to visit CJ!
My little girl is growing up so fast. We were so excited to see this day come and how memorable it will be that it happened on Easter.
Have a great day and don't forget to hold onto those baby hugs just a little longer today!

God is so good to give me healthy, happy, children.

Tyre Times

I did manage to get this one pic off my BB.

Good Morning everyone! It is gorgeous outside today and I pray that wherever it is you are its just as beautiful!

I am having some issues with my pictures downloading so I don't have any for you today. However, I will give ya'll an update on the happenings in Tyreville, only because I can't stand to get so far behind on my postings when there is so much to share.

This week, in the Tyre house, the girls have gotten their dance recital costumes! They are TOO CUTE!! Some changes have been made to the recital..which is May 29th...and I am going to start praying NOW that everything will workout and I get to see my girls perform. The girls dance instructor, Mrs. Lisa, is having to make some MAJOR decisions as too were and if the girls will be changing in the theater during the performances. So I am going to be stretched really thin during the recital. I assure you I am not the only Momma with this issue but it still stinks that our facilities are drawing us to this conclusion. No matter what though, MY GIRLS ARE GOING TO LOOK FANTASTIC. Its kinda bitter sweet too! The girls have decided they want to try other extra curricular activities. Cory and I have told them only one thing at a time and therefore they have decided to try something new. CJ wants to do horseback riding lessons and well VK wants to do everything of course!! OK, didn't mean to get into ALL of that. But we are very excited for the recital and their costumes....they do love it and I know I'll miss this!

Whitman is doing really good. We were afraid there for awhile that he might have to have tubes put in his ears but we prayed that fluid away and guess what...looking good and NO fluid!! So no tubes! He does, however, have some stomach teeth coming in and they are making him IrRitAbLe!!!! Lord willing this will pass SOON! On a good note, he is talking more and more and I can definitely see some development changes going on! He is getting TOO big TOO fast! Right now he is in LOVE with any tractor and LOVES to go with his Daddy anywhere! I love to see them go off together...its too cute!

Cory, the love of my life, has been very busy getting ALL his harvest operating stuff together. Hay season has started a little but will really get into full swing next month. He took two big trips in the last few weeks. He went to DC with Farm Bureau and got to visit with some our legislators on behalf of the GA farmer. And then he went to Indiana to look at some equipment for the business. So he has been my "Travelin' Man"...(I love that song by Alan Jackson). We also got our new tractor that we won (for a year) through the GA Young Farmer of the Year Award. I have pics that I will show as soon as I can.

As for me, I have recently been ATTEMPTING this Couch to 5k program and so far so good. Like I said I'm attempting so lets all pray it works...haha! Been looking at house options its kinda become an obsession and I need to just let the Lord work it out. I have a hard time releasing control over that (like I have any control anyways)! Our Wednesday night TeamKids is coming to an end and I have really enjoyed my class. I pray when it starts back up the Lord will use me again in some aspect of its structure. But VBS is around the corner and since I am blessed to direct the week long event I need to focus more of my time and energy on that! My husband surprised me a couple weeks ago with a Blackberry (I've been wanting one since Thanksgiving) and I have been playing with that alot. He was so sweet to get me one....finally..LOL!

So as you can tell we are busy beavers around our house. Never a dull moment, blessed continuously, thankful always!

Hope to get some pictures up soon!

God is so good...........ALL the time,
