V-I-C-T-O-R-Y……that’s the Eagle Battle Cry!!

DSCF4611

The first week of school brought a new football season for the soaring ACA Eagles!!  And this group has a lot to get excited about!

We are the reigning NACA National and GCAA State Champions!!!

The bleachers were packed out for this first pep-rally of the 2010 ACA Football Season!  And my girls were right amongst ‘em.  They love to see all the older kids participate in the blooper games.  Cora Jane loves to watch the Bubba Boosters perform, but they usually don’t come out until Homecoming!

We have always loved going to the pep-rallies and supporting the Eagles.  The girls look forward to the day they can be cheerleaders for ACA and cheer their school on!  They can’t wait….but I can ;)

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  Isaiah 40:31

Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

DSCF4598

Snips and snails,
And puppy dog tails,
That's what little boys are made of.

And I love this little boy!  His favorite thing is to be Outside!  And since we got our new puppy, Blue, he spends even more time out there.

I am so thankful that I am able to be at home and enjoy ALL the little boy Whitman is!

School Bells Ringing

DSCF4597

On Thursday, August 5th, the girls and I attended their school’s Open House.  We had a lot of fun and got to see old friends, meet new ones, and get a feel for the new school year at ACA.

I was so busy getting all the girl’s new info that I forgot to get pictures.  I just happened to get this one of CJ at her desk……this was before the kids took over..tehe!  Needless to say I didn’t get one of V.  I don’t think she would have sit still anyhoo.

The first day of school brought lots of change for my girls and our family.  First of all, structure.  We do alright with structure, but for the most part we enjoy our laid back way of life.  So waking up early and going to bed early came difficult for this household.  We’re managing pretty good.  We’ll see how well we’re doing in a few weeks.  Smile.

The summer time spoils me.  I get too used to having my girls around the house and with me ALL the time.  Granted we all get tired of each other every now and then, and a couple hours away from each other is really good for us.  But I miss my girls!  Its an adjustment for all of us…we miss being together…but we’ll do extra things to make up for it….tehe!

Thankfully I still have my little man at home with me!  We have been filling our days with lots of playtime on the floor…with his tractors and accessories (lol).  I LOVE hooking up the different tractors and loading them with stuff.  Bulldozing blocks and making play-doh balls is just a little of the fun me and my little man have been up too.

Ok, I know these pictures are TeRriBLe but we had a bad start the first morning and I forgot my camera.  So thanks to my trusty BB I was able to get these pics.

So our morning started out pretty good, with the exception I was sick and had been all weekend.  The girls got up great, ate breakfast, we were getting dressed WHEN………CJ starts having a melt down over her shoes.  After lots of deliberating we were coming to an agreement when she started to get sick too!  Grreeeaaatt!  I get VK loaded up and ready to go and CJ loaded up and ready to go to the doctor.  Whit was still sleeping and Cory was taking care of him….thank GOD!

After dropping VK off , crying, and all the sentimental things a Momma goes through on the first day of Kindergarten, CJ and I head to the doctor.  God is so good……..Doc said with some minor meds we should both be good to go.  So back to school it was for CJ….whew I’m exhausted just telling the story!  lol!

So despite the drama our first day gave us, we managed to have a great first week of school!  We are really excited about all the new challenges and changes that are coming our way since the school bells started ringing!

God is good….ALL the time,

So do not fear for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Whitman’s Two Year Pictures

I’m not very good at taking my kids to professional photographers.  I have always enjoyed taking their pictures…I’m not an expert but I’m decent.  However, I take them and then its a month or so before I ever get around to editing them and printing them.  Hence this post!!

While we were in Cedar Key, on vacation, I managed to get some adorable pictures of Whitman.  I love natural pictures.  Pictures that aren’t posed.  Outside pictures too.  I got some of VK for her 5th year pics but I wasn’t as impressed with them.  I’ve got an idea of what I want to do for her…..its just a matter of getting it done!  Ha!

So I think he is absolutely adorable in all of them!  I think for my birthday I need to invest in a photo shop or something so I can us cool gadgets to edit them!  My photographer buddies, Charlotte and Lori, will have to help me out in that department.

Still can’t believe he is TWO!!  Whitman is a Momma’s boy and I am eating it up!  He is so precious and I am blessed every moment to have him as my baby boy.

GA Farm Bureau Young Farmers Leadership Conference – Lake Blackshear, GA

DSCF4574

The GA Farm Bureau Young Farmer Committee Members

This past weekend we had a great time at the state YF Conference.  The weekend was filled with fun, sun, friends, fellowship, and food!  This was a family conference, so we got to visit with lots of our friends and their kids!

The conference didn’t start until Saturday but we went Thursday night so we could enjoy the grounds.  Thankfully our friends, Matt and Melissa, brought their boat and we got to get on the water!

Later Friday, everyone started arriving for a fun weekend.  So what did we do next?  We ate of course…hehe!  Wings on the lake…awesome food, great fellowship, and an amazing view!

I managed to get one good shot of them together!

My kids had a ball at Saturday’s outside games.  And what kind of farmers would we be without a Tractor Pedal Race for all the kiddos!  Whitman LOVED this event and was very upset that he couldn’t ride them ALL afternoon!  Vera Kate wasn’t feeling that well but still managed to participate.  Cora Jane’s favorite was the Sunflower Seed Spitting contest – and she did really good too!  It reminded me of the watermelon seed spitting contest I used to participate in at the Florida Watermelon Conventions…..Cora Jane did her Momma proud.  LOL!

Mine and Cory’s priorities are God, family, church, and our business.  We are so blessed that GA FB Young Farmers feel the same way.  Sunday morning, Cory led the conference in a Praise and Worship time before the speaker.  I was so proud!  He did a great job.  God has truly blessed him with a gift of music!
